My dog is ok
It amazes me how much one can love an animal that sometimes leaves smelly droppings on the carpet, or runs across the room with toilet paper in his mouth.
But then he looks at you with those soulful eyes, and your heart just melts.
Having a dog is like having a permanent 2 year old,yet I would not trade him for anything. Our baby is now middle aged and on thyroid pills twice a day, I have forked out more money then I care to admit on tests and yet I was overjoyed when I heard yesterday that the latest blood test came back normal. He is going to be with us for a while yet.
I do not want to think about they day when he is too old or too sick. A friend from work already said she would go with me to the vet when the day comes he has to go. I don’t think I could do that, he would have to be pretty ill and suffering an awful lot. Our baby is part of this family.
He is the guy who greets me so enthusiastically when I come home. He loves to sit with me and listen to anything I have to say without complaint that I am talking nonsense. He never rolls his eyes at the stuff I do and loves to play and bring out the child in me.
My dog, he’s a keeper.
