Lord, Help my unbelief.
The words spoken by a desperate father who wanted so much to believe his son could be made well. Jesus answered this man’s prayer in 2 ways, He gave the man faith to believe and he gave the man is son whole again.
There has been much contemplation, discussion, arguments over what faith is. Hebrews 11:1 gives this definition
“Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.”
Many a sermon has been preached to try to nail down the concrete evidence of faith though, like love, is something intangible yet evident when seen in action.
I can not show you faith nor measure it’s size or capabilities but never the lesss I know what faith is and what it can do when focused on an omnipotent, omnipresent God.
Lord, I believe, help my unbelief.
