What’s the punch line?

When my mom wants to tell a joke we all ask her a very important question first. Do you remember the punch line? You see she has been known to get half way through a joke, getting it all set up for us and then has to say, “Opps, I forget the punch line”. This leaves everyone dangling hopelessly wondering what are the possible endings to these jokes. Will you ever find out? Will you be able to sleep tonight not knowing how it ends? A good example was earlier this evening. She was telling me about a joke she heard on TV. I even asked her the important question, she paused and told me she knew it. Off we went into the land of humor, me innocently expecting to hear the entire joke. I am a fool. She got right up to the important moment and then said, “oh dear, I better make sure I am getting this right”. Then she asked dad if he remembered the joke. Finally I think I got the gist of the joke though by then it had lost it’s momentum and fell flat. I then told her that this was a good subject for my blog….. (grin) Sweet revenge.
