It’s Really Over
It’s really over. I know because the signs are all there. My kids are packing up the decorations. The table the tree stood on is now in it’s box. My son just took the plastic bin we keep the tree stuff in. I am hiding here because I can’t bear it! The only thing that keeps me going through this cold dark winter is the lights and pretty colors of Christmas and it is all gone again. They already have the Valentines Day stuff up all over the stores and the holly and mistletoe is just a distant memory on a clearance table. I think the thing that makes me saddest, is that the air of good will in everyone seems to be reserved for the month of December. I would like to quote from the Ghost of Christmas Present. “Mortal, we spirits of Christmas do not live only one day of the year. We live the whole 365. So it is true of the child born in Bethlehem. He does not live in men’s hearts only one day of the year but in all the days of the year. You have chosen not to seek him in your heart.”— Kareen
