There are no conversations

It used to be that a conversation was the act of 2 or more people talking and listening to each other. I wonder when it became to mean receiving emails?

People used to talk to each other face to face or on the phone having a conversation which shared information and perhaps some amusement in the package.

It seems that intelligent conversation has gone away and been replaced by emails and text messages which to the untrained or ill informed to be jibberish.

Now I do appreciate the emails and on line friends I have and I do like that I can get a text message for important information like what to bring home so I don't waste a trip,etc.

But I think that perhaps we have lost something in the simple joys of conversing with one another in a meaningful way.

I wonder.......
