To Closet or Not to Closet

For those who have been faithful readers you may recall a story some time back about a dresser that took much to be created.

Well you can consider this another such story.

My oldest and her brother changed bedrooms about 2 months ago.

My oldest discovered that the closet she inherited was not really one at all and needed an upgrade.

So we went to several stores and came home with a closet organizer that looked like it would work.

then when opened we discovered that the dimentions would only work if we used a hack saw to shorten all 5 metal shelves.

so we, I mean I went to work and after about 3 days we had them the right length.

Then after looking at the instructions several times we managed to get the centre section mostly together but still not attached to the wall.

At this point we gave up in frustration and decided that later would do.

Well after about 3 weeks of this I decided that yesterday was the later.

I declared she would have a closet today!

So I measured and drilled the 2 holes we needed for the right side. Put in the plastic holder for that shelf. So far so good.

Then I drilled two holed into the left side. After much struggling discovered that I could not get the plastic holder into that side because there was something behind the wall and I did not want to force the drill through it.

Then I stared babbling out loud about wondering if half the organizer would be able to stand up without the right side or if I could make shift a bar going from front to back for her clothes.

My daughter just stared at me. I am not sure if she thought I was completely crazy(though I suspect she does) or if she thought I was just losing it.

At this point I declared we  were going out to the store and not coming back until she had a close that would work!

So we found at least a temporary solution at last of a portable closet that fits into her closet space. Now she can put her clothes away.

What will happen to the organizer? Next spring it is getting the boot out the door for the big spring clean up.

You see, I may get temporarily stalled on a project but in the end I will conquer!
