Bah Humbug

Today while trying to keep my sanity while all around me were losing theirs, I heard another sales associate comment. “I hate Christmas because people get so cranky. I wish there was no Christmas.” It made me stop for a minute. Wait! This is NOT what we are celebrating is it? Unfortunately, yes, many do the shop until they drop buying and spending too much and why? Most could not really tell you why but that it’s Christmas. It is easy to get caught up in the flurry and spending because you want. I want to stop every day and remember what I am celebrating. I am celebrating the giving of the most precious gift to man kind. The birth of that baby in that manger so long ago, who grew up and became the Saviour of the world. I am not celebrating the tinsel and trappings of the season, I am not going to give in to the frenzy and I refuse to allow the cranky people around me to make me hard and regret that this time of year is here. I am going to bring cheer, a smile, a kind word, and given the opportunity, I will share the greatest gift with anyone who wants it.

  1. Exactly what needs to be said at a time when it’s becoming against the law to say Merry Christmas in public.
WHat a sad state our country is in when my child can’t sing O Holy Night in school.
