Long Weekend
Today we call Victoria Day which is a holiday in Canada that is said to be celebrating the Queen's birthday. I remember as a child having to watch the queen give an address on this day, but that no longer seems to happen. It isn't even the present Queens' birthday but her grandmother's, Victoria.
So I get a long weekend off, so far I have not accomplished anything nor gone anywhere. I have been rather lazy and trying my best to forget about the crazy week I have ahead.
Many of my fellow Canadians are out camping or travelling or some where celebrating this first holiday of the spring/summer.
Many put in their gardens because we usually don't have any more cold nights after this time of year and I too have some flowers I may get around to planting later today.
I am not sure why we bother even having this holiday any more as we are no longer under England's rule and we even have our own constitution as such.

But I think we would all miss having this weekend to remind us that winter is over and it's official for another year.
