Christmas Shopping

Every year I shop in bits and pieces and then I have to line up the wrapped gifts to see what I still need to buy. I’m sure my kids think it’s hilarious. Last night was the line up…... Then I made my list of what is yet to come. I still have 4 things to buy (No I won’t say what as my kids may read this). I have also been watching the shoppers at work. Some are happy and seem to enjoy it while others look like they just lost their best friend. Then there are the ones who I am glad do not have a shot gun…... The customer who is just looking for someone to bark at like a rabid dog. Those are the ones who think their needs are more important then the customer you are helping at the moment. They are the ones who demand your attention with words like ” Hey you!” or a loud growl in your direction. I am tempted to tell them to go home and take a nap and come back when they are in a better mood. These are the ones who seem to think I have great power and a magic wand. You see, they think it is my fault that someone took the last ( fill in the blank) that they just had to have and am I sure I don’t have any more. Like they think I am playing a cruel game with them and hiding that item in some dark room so they can’t buy it. They also want to know when it will be coming in and even though I explain that I can only give them an estimate, they will call the next day and yell at me if it is not there. or they will tell me they are from out of town or that they need it now (like that means I will instantly produce the item out of thin air). So the next time you go shopping be considerate and don’t bark at the sales person it ain’t their fault. Try to bring them a smile because they have already had to endure a few hundred others who would cheerfully boil them in oil.

Discussion

  1. I do try to be polite and well mannered but some of those shopping assistants are a bit mean.
Then again, some of those customers also give other customers a hard time, too.
Anyway, I always chat to the cashier and we discuss the “tourists” in town as this is the busiest time of year for them to be visiting. LOL
