December 25th

As I sit here I have a twinkle in my eye (I know most days I have a twinkle in my eye it's what I inherited from grandpa).

Today I did not sleep in but everyone else did, so I had a quiet time until nearly 11 am when everyone was up and we started to open gifts.

It was so much fun to watch the anticipation not only in the receiver's eyes but also in the eyes of the one who gave the gift.

I think you could say Christmas has come to this house, as in the joy, the love, the peace, the spirit of giving, all those things that we think of are here.

There are some who want to say bah humbug to the whole thing, to say there is no real Christmas, no baby in a manger, no love brought down to earth. There are some who want to distill all the goodness and love into some chemical compound and annalize it under a microscope.

Maybe I will be accused of being silly and sentimental or just an uneducated idiot, but I know what I know and I know God is love and I know He loves me as I can see the evidence all around me.

This has been a very good day, a very blessed day and I am contented to let it be. I won't argue with those who disagree because I can't make you believe any more then you can make me not believe.

As Scrooge says at the end of the movie,

"I don't deserve to be so happy, I just can't help it!"

  1. 11am??!! Nathan “slept in” until 7:30am and were already impatient for him to get up. LOL
I love your post. I’m glad you had such a beautiful and special day. You certainly deserve it!
