The Visit
Yesterday my parents and my niece arrived for the weekend. It is nice to have them come as it has been a long time. My niece is 10 years old and likes to have her hug before bed. My kids are ‘too old’ so this was nice. Our dog likes her too because she likes to get down on the floor at his eye level. Mom also brought 3 fruit cakes to bake. So our home smelled of fruit cake last night. No , we are not fans of fruit cakes, she makes these every year for her brother (he gets 2), and one for my sister’s in-laws. Then she is making 3 more when she gets home. My uncle is a fruit cake fanatic! I never met anyone else quite like him. He likes to eat it 2 chunks at a time, one for each hand.— Kareen
