How did it get so late so soon?

This popped into my head just now. You know how time is such an abstract concept that it's hard to think how much time as gone by in the past and yet we think we will live for ever, though we only truly live in the present.
Another famous quote is "Seize the day." but maybe it should be Seize the moment.
So much of our time is wasted waiting for something, a better time, an opportunity, or a vacation, when why should we wait for something that may never come. Or when it does it is a disappointment.
I am not advoating that we not plan for the future but not living in the present is never a good idea. I think.
If there is one legacy I had passed on to me and hope I pass on to my children is that one of living now.
It is later than you think.
