You won't believe what happened today

As I left work this afternoon I told my co workers I was going home to add to my blog. It has been a long week back from holidays and it's not over yet. There is much more to do then there are hours in the day or staff to get it done. But I keep plugging away and doing all I can.

But I have to tell you about one dear gal who  really tried to get what she wanted.

She pulled out some material from a bin and asked if it would shrink. She was told that there were no guarantees. Especially with the stuff in the bin because it's very cheap and most of it does not have care  instructions.

She asked if she could take some home and wash it and then if it did not shrink she would come back and pay for it. Yes you heard me right, she wanted to take it home for free to see if it shrinks.

She was politely told no.

Also today, a gentleman was upset because he wanted 2 of these wooden wardrobes and I only had one of them. They have been put on clearance so I told him I would try to order more but there was no guarantee that I could get any more. I said if I could have your name and phone number I'll call you in a few days and let you know if they can fill the order. He gave me his name and then proceeded to give me his address. He said he did not have a phone. I explained to him that I could not go to his house, but he could call here and I'd let him know. He apparently does not live near a pay phone either, so he is coming back to the store in a few days  to ask me if I can order these wardrobes for him......

Now I wonder at a man who says he can buy 2 of these $100. wardrobes but does not have a phone???

  1. Well, I read about a man who is still working at 97 – He has a TV but he refuses to buy a phone as they’re an interruption etc.
One hundred dollars for a wardrobe is cheap compared to here, though.
Maybe you should write a book about “Customers and their Oddities” or something.
