Too Hot

Its too hot to sleep and my mind is in a whirl.

As I sit here a song is running through my mind from an old musical.

"It's cool in the furnace man, it's cool not hot in the furnace man..."

This was a musical we did in Sunday school back in the 70's. The story is about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. (Daniel 3)

But I digress.

I should also be sleeping so I am rested for tomorrow.

But here it is midnight, I've got this fan blowing the air which helps but not enough. sigh.

My fingers on my right hand are also purple.

NO I'm not having a stroke, I was eating cherries earlier.

Funny how they look a dark red and cherry flavour always looks red but when you eat them they leave purple stains on your fingers.

You know we have had a heat wave almost steady since about mid May this year, and people are still trying to buy fans and air conditioners the end of July. Hello?! Why did you not purchase these items at least a month ago? Why are you harrassing me because I have no more left to sell?

I must remember this heat in January when it's so cold out. Perhaps the memories will keep me warm then?

  1. I hate to disillusion you but when the cold sets in (and it will) the only way you will remember this heatwave is by sitting in front of a burning, warming fire – and even then you won’t really remember it cause you’ll want to be hot and enjoy it.
Make memories to keep you warm inside, even if it’s cold outside!

  2. Kareen, it’s been a week since you last wrote – so I’ve tagged you to do a book meme – you can see it at my coutsidethebox blogsite. Hope you like it!
