Do not shop in the rain with kids

The last few days it has been raining and so the people are flocking to the store to shop. But they are also bringing their kids who would much rather be home playing or napping.

Instead they are being dragged around a store crying and screaming.

Today I heard a mighty crash and several of us came running. Two shopping carts had collided and one was turned on it's side. One child was screaming in pain and her mother kept yelling at her to shut up.  Then she yelled at the older sibbling who had been pushing the cart.

This mother would not listen to any staff as we wanted to be sure the child was ok and offer assistance. She walked away yelling at her kids.

It's times like these that I wish there was required testing before you could become a parent.

I also think that maybe someone from family services should cruise the shopping centres some days and see how some children are being treated.

I learned an important lesson when I was very young. When life gets overwhelming and you are tired, then take a nap.

Still a good idea no mattter how old you are.
