cancer

A word that strikes fear into a heart. Something insidious that grows in the dark where we can't find it or don't know it is there often until it is too late.

There is no prevetive pill which will keep it away, you can eat right and exercise and for some that is enough. Some you can do tests to detect it and if early enough can cure or remove it before the life expires.

My mother and my Uncle are surviviors. Both had bowel cancer and both were found soon enough. Now it is over 15 years since their surgeries and so far cancer free.

Today, I also had a test (colonoscopy) nasty thing to go through but I am flying high tonight because I got a clean bill of health.

Life is a precious thing and we don't know what we will face tomorrow and we could go through it with our mouths hanging down like we had just lost our best friend or we can choose to live life to it's fullest for today. Today is what we have so don't waste it.

choose life

A choice is set before you now

Living or dying, blessing or cursing

And know, the time has come around

To turn from your fighting and rest in His mercy

Chorus

Choose life, that you might live

The life that He gives, He gives you forever

Choose life, the way that is true

From the one who chose you, your Father in Heaven

Choose life

Trust the Lord with all your heart, with all of your soul

And all of your being

Hold on, listen and obey, surrender your life

Into His keeping

Chorus

And the weight you're under, will be lifted away

And the world will wonder what happened here today

And you'll stand right there and say

Chorus

Discussion

  1. As the child of one living with cancer, I applaud your post. It is good to know someone else has the courage to have the tests run, just to make sure, just to have that assurance.

Keep it up! Your family and friends will thank you when you are 80 or 90!
