Discovery

This world is full of surprises around every corner and if you keep your eyes open you may just learn something new every day.

Just a few minutes ago I was directed to a web page which showed me a picture of a new creature. It looks like a white hairy lobster and was found in the south Pacific. Reading further, I found out that new animals are being discovered every day, something else I was unaware of.

It's almost like you can get so caught up in your own little world that you forget there is life outside. Like that commercial- "Think outside the bun." Or thinking outside the box. It's human nature to want to put things into neat little packages so we know what it is and what to expect. We seem to fear change so much we want to avoid it. But then we can miss so many new experiences, new adventures waiting for us just around that next bend.

The more I discover about life around me, the more amazed I am at what God has created and the more amazed I am of Him.

All the intricate details all put together exactly right, all the beauty and mystery, the excitement of experiencing these things. Maybe I should have become a scientist, but I don't really like touching things that are icky so maybe not. I can still read about them and be facinated.

Discovery is an integral part of what makes us human and I am so grateful that we are made that way. When we lose that desire to discover I think that is when we really begin to die.

  1. Curiosity and discovery go hand-in-hand so I pray that you won’t ever lose that delight in discovering new and interesting things!
