I am very tired and glad that tomorrow is my last day at work then 2 days off.

Today was particularly busy almost like the week before Christmas and all because we are having an anniversary sale this week. People are filling up their shopping carts like there is no tomorrow or that somehow they won’t be able to buy these things again.

Now there are certain things only brought in for the sale but a lot of it they can buy any day but just putting a picture of it in a flyer and colourful signs up seems to make people need to shop.

I expect that some of the things we will run out of in a day or 2 and then have to deal with unhappy people because it’s not there for them.

Like this lady today who is never wrong. She wanted a fan, a particular fan. We don’t sell fans this time of year because our heaters are on the shelves where the fans were. I explained that we only sell fans during the summer. To which she replied that she had been in the store in July and we had no fans then…. well we did but she insisted she was right.
I managed to keep my cool until she rode away and then I went into the back room and let off my steam. That means I made faces and expressed my frustration to another staff member. They understand.

I am not there to make a customer’s life miserable and it’s not my fault if what you want is not there. I can not magically produce it not even if you are from out of town.

I guess I really am tired and better get some sleep so I can face another crazy day at the loony bin tomorrow.
