Hitting Your Thumb With A Hammer Is Not A Good Idea

Yesterday I was working with my department manager to build new shelving for our vacuums and microwave ovens. We had a couple of metal poles which refused to slide into place, so out came a rubber mallet and the first one went in. The second one… She missed and hit her thumb.

I have not seen someone go so completely white before. I thought she was going to pass out. Her thumb grew to twice it’s normal size, but she kept working…

this morning she came to work with a splint and said it was broken in 2 places. I don’t think she will ever do that again. Though I don’t suppose she meant to do it in the first place. Terrible what we do to ourselves when we get tired and don’t take care.
