The Dresser
On September 18th I ordered from Sears a dresser. A few days later, I paid for and picked up this dresser. It came in 2 boxes. When I opened one box I discovered that the top of the dresser was cracked. I called them up and they said they would order a new dresser and I could exchange it. A week later I went to Sears again and exchanged the damaged part for a new part. Life got very busy so it was 2 weeks later ( about October 20th) that I got down to building this dresser. I glued and nailed and fitted all the drawers together. Then I turned to the job of putting the frame of the dresser together and this is when I discovered that I had 2 left sides and no right side. On the phone to Sears again….. Yes they would order me a replacement part. I waited and waited. 2 weeks later, I called sears and was told that someone cancelled order because they assumed it was a mistake. The person I spoke with on the phone said she would reorder this immediately. She said she would order the box I needed. I explained that I did not know whether the part was in box one or two but she said she knew…... Yesterday, I went to Sears and yup, she ordered the wrong box! So once again, my dresser is being reordered. They tell me I will have it by Saturday but I will believe it when I see it! So now, my daughter has been waiting for a dresser for 2 months. Will it ever come? Who knows.— Kareen
